Carol Anglin was educated at State University of NY Albany and taught high school English in western New York where she grew up. /// CHURCH BACKGROUND: After marrying, Lee Anglin and she served churches in New York State, Texas, Colorado, Ohio and Indiana. /// VOCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: As they moved around the country, Carol worked as a marketing writer and an writer/editor of technology education curriculum. After retiring in 1999 Carol and Lee spent 14 years in Montana. Anglins have two daughters who live in the Nashville area and two sons who live in the Northeast.
Van has been at GRACEPOINTE for 13 years. /// CHURCH BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE: Ordained since 1969. Served in various functions of leadership including pastor of two congregations. /// VOCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: Work as a Realtor for the past 20 years. Prior to that, I worked in the insurance industry negotiation managed care contracts on behalf of the company. FAMILY- Married since 1980 with two grown children who live in Middle Tennesse with their families.
Kathi Gilleland has been a member of GRACEPOINTE for nearly two years. /// CHURCH BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE: She was born and raised Southern Baptist. /// VOCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: Kathi started her own business 20 years ago – a garden design and installation company called Poise & Ivy. She serves on the Board of Desana, a local non-profit with projects in Nashville,, Uganda and Russia. With Desana she develops and oversees projects in the U.S. as well as raising money to fund the projects. Kathy is married to Brian Gilleland and has two sons, one daughter, a stepson and stepdaughter, all between the ages of 25 and 35.
Tara Hamilton has been a member of GRACEPOINTE for over two years. /// CHURCH BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE: She was raised Southern Baptist and always visited and enjoyed other denominations. She participated in Presbyterian campus ministry and attended a non-denominational Christian Church for 10 years. After returning to Nashville, she visited many churches and ended up in the same Baptist church she had grown up in. After her divorce, she attended West end United Methodist Church for 2-1/2 years before coming to GRACEPOINTE. /// VOCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: Tara has a varied vocational background: grassroots non-profit fundraising, home school educator, banking, higher education fundraising, and arts fundraising. She is currently Director of Corporate Relations @ TPAC. Tara is married to Elke Hoffman and has four children: Lola – 13, Abe - 11. Maggie – 9 and Eliza – 6.
Steve has been a member of GRACEPOINTE for 6 years. /// CHURCH BACKGROUND: He attended the Presbyterian church in his childhood, and Christ Church in Nashville for several years before coming to GRACEPOINTE. Steve is a Deacon, meal group leader and Timothy’s Gift volunteer. /// VOCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: Steve has been a commercial and industrial painting contractor here in Nashville for 40 years. He previously owned his own company and employed on average 45 to 50 workers for most of his years in business. He currently is a full time employee in the industry, performing the duties of Sales Manager and Senior Project Manager. Steve is married to Connie Hartman and they have four children and seven grandchildren, most of whom live in the Franklin and Nashville area.
David Surbaugh has been a member of GRACEPOINTE for 6 years. /// CHURCH BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE: He has been actively involved in church since his youth, often in leadership roles. David was raised in a conservative Baptist church in his home state of West Virginia. As an adult he has been part of churches representing several diverse traditions (Anabatist to Episcopalian) and theological perspectives (Evangelical to Progressive). /// VOCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: David’s vocational experience has been centered in the Christian Publishing Industry selling books with faith content (both popular and academic) to non-religious market channel (Barnes & Noble, etc.). He and his wife Susan have three adult children and ten grandchildren.
